Applying for Master Degree in Germany

Pursuing Master Degree in Germany: My Story

Good afternoon, my dear friends! Hope you are doing well and staying healthy. Today I would like to talk about pursuing a Master degree in Germany. My story of studying in Germany began back in summer 2013, when I came to Germany for two months to do a summer language course. Once the language school organized a study trip to Schmalkalden and had a tour on the campus of University of Applied Sciences. Coming from a small town in Ukraine, I was fascinated. I started dreaming about studying there already on the way back to language school. After this excursion, I have firmly decided to do my Master’s degree in Germany.

So, here I will describe my process of applying for a degree program in Germany in few easy steps and will give you some useful tips for your application process. Kindly note, that my degree was entirely in English, so I will describe here application process for English speaking degree. Continue reading

University Life In Germany

Hi, my dear friends! Today I would like to tell you a little bit about my impressions of studying in Germany. As you know from previous blog posts, I moved to Germany 6 years ago to pursue my Master’s degree in International Business and Economics at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. It was incredible time filled with a lot of joy and, of course, adventures! I would say it took me a little bit of time to adjust to educational system in Germany and way it works since there are quite a few differences compared to Ukraine. So, in this blog post I would like to tell you more about differences between university life in Germany and Ukraine!

Schmalkalden Diaries

Schmalkalden! Most of the expats living in Germany have never heard this name. Well, to be very honest even many Germans have never heard this name. Once I mentioned Schmalkalden to my German friend as an answer to his question “Where did you study”, and his reaction was: “No, I mean where did you study in Germany, not in Ukraine”. But well, Schmalkalden is actually in Germany.

This place is very special to me for many reasons, it is where it all began. Didn’t mean to sound like in one episodes of “Dark”. But well, that is true. That is exactly where my expat journey in Germany began. These place has so many memories of my student life – first time I’ve lived apart from my parents, first time I’ve lived in a student dorm, my first dorm party, my first part-time job, and the list can go on. It was a place where I met so many beautiful people and made friends for the rest of my life. I had so many sleepless nights of studying and, of course, partying. That is exactly why I decide to create a separate blog post to tell you more about this town. So, let’s start!

Not sure what were you thinking about, but I am talking about the first time I came to Germany! Yes, that very first time, when you come to a new country and immediately fall in love with it. It is exactly what happened to me and Germany.

Life Diaries: Diaries of Ukrainian Expat in Germany

Hi, there, friend and welcome to My Life Diaries Blog. Before we start, I want to ask you one question. Have you ever heard about fusion? I bet you did and it was in the context of fusion cuisine. Well, just like fusion cuisine combines elements of culinary traditions of different countries and regions, the same is with my blog – it basically combines the fusion of my life, therefore, My Life Diaries.

You see, I don’t just want to cover one topic and develop in only one direction. It is kind of a little bit boring, to be very honest. I wanna to talk about a bit of everything  – my life experience as an expat in Germany and share my knowledge with fellow expats, I wanna tell you about my profession of marketing and my journey on the road of personal development, my passions for photography and travelling. Do you think you can handle that? Then, my friend, I welcome you on board of my Life Fusion Express!
